Kansas City really is the perfect place to live if you want to experience a change in seasons without being miserably hot in the summer or buried in snow all winter. It's hard for me to say whether I enjoy spring or fall more. Watching the leaves change colors, a slight nip in the air and roasting marshmallows over backyard firepits are something I look forward to each October. This past fall, I took a series of pictures of the same tree in our backyard over a period of two and a half weeks so I could share what we experience here with our friends and family who live in the Southwest.

Admittedly, when the trees are bare and brown, the grass is dormant and all the flowers are dead, it's not very pretty here...until the first snowfall.

Helloooo??? Who are you??? LOL! I can't believe it's been since NOV @ND since you posted last! I kknew it had been a while but I didn't realize until I scrolled down to your last post that it had been that long!!
Cool pics! Amazing how fast the trees go bare, isn't it?!? I swear I keep seeing buds on the trees already. Wishful thinking? Probably!
BTW - I still can't sign up to follow your blog. Weird!
I'm in KC too - the change in seasons is definitely pretty :)
Very pretty Aim! I am really jealous...
Glad to see you're back!!! I noticed you stopped by my site too. Haven't posted in a while either. Funny how time just flies by in this thing called life.
I, too, have a favorite tree in our yard. A huge, heart shaped oak. When we moved in, four + years ago, it was obscured by 8 or 9 huge evergreen trees. We cut them down and amongst them we discovered the most beautiful focal point. I love watching the leaves change with the seasons. I only wish the seasons would slow down!!!!
We just have crazy weather here!
I'm glad that you enjoy the season changes so much that it brought you back to Kansas (eventhough we haven't seen you guys in forever). I remember when I first met you and how terrified of tornados you were. I remember you talking about taking your kitchen TV, radio, and the dogs down to the basement waiting out the storm when most of us native Kansans are watching from our front porches...and you decided to return! I'm glad you did!!!!
I love the pictures of the tree... I would love to live somewhere in the East Coast just to see the weather changes. Growing up here in AZ you dont to see or feel those changes. Glad to see you semi-back.
